The Knot Climbing Gym Membership Agreement
This Membership Agreement (the “Agreement”) is between THE KNOT CLIMBING GYM, LLC, of Gainesville, FL (the "The Knot”), and you (the “Member”), in consideration of the following. You agree to the terms of this Agreement in exchanges for accessing The Knot’s facilities and the Membership Amenities listed on the "Member Benefits" page.
Membership Rate
The current membership rates are found on the FAQ page of our website at: https://climbtheknot.com/pages/faq. The initial payment for the pro-rated first month is due at sign up. Each member’s membership monthly rate will be locked when they sign up for their membership and will not change so long as that member continues their membership without disruption or cancellation for lack of payment, with the exception of any paid membership freezes as per this agreement.
Recurring Monthly Billing
Following the initial payment at sign up, which is a prorated amount of the regular monthly payment, recurring monthly billing will begin on the 1st of the month and will continue by calendar month until written request to cancel is received. The initial term of the standard monthly contract is one (1) monthly payment and member is committed to the 1st full monthly billing, on the 1st of the month, before the membership can be cancelled. Some promotional memberships may require a commitment longer than 1 month’s payment.
Membership Changes/Cancellations
Changes to monthly billing are due no later than close of business on the 25th of the month prior. As of the 1st, billing for the month has been processed and cannot be changed. All billing change requests receive a confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation, then your request has not been processed or received. Refunds are not provided based on a lack of facility use. Please submit cancellation/change requests by logging in through your member portal at https://portal.climbtheknot.com/gnv.
Membership Freeze and Membership Cancellation
Membership Freezes are available for $8 per month. For Monthly Billed Memberships, a membership freeze or membership cancellation can only begin on the 1st of the month, in alignment with monthly
billing. Requests to freeze or cancel are due by the 25th of the month before the billing day. Freezes must last a minimum of 1 full month, and a monthly freeze fee will be applied for each member frozen on the account. When unfreezing before or after the 1st of the month, prorated dues will be billed and the freeze fee for that month will not be credited. To unfreeze beginning on the 1st of the month, request must be received by the 25th of the month prior. Rule & Rate Changes
The membership fees and membership rules may change at any time. The Knot shall establish classifications of memberships and may add, delete, modify or otherwise change such classifications and related privileges of membership as it deems necessary. It is the responsibility of the member to make sure accurate and updated contact information is on file so they can be alerted to such change. Billing Discrepancies
It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that correct action has been taken on their account and must notify The Knot of any billing discrepancies within 30 days of the charge. The Knot is unable to take action on billing discrepancies that have already been disputed with outside financial institutions. Payments more than 30 days old are not refundable. If any Recurring Monthly Billing payment is not received, bounced back, declined or otherwise unable to be processed, the member’s access to the facilities is immediately suspended until payment has been made to the member’s account for any outstanding balance. If payment is not made within 30 days of the original payment date, the member’s membership will be automatically terminated.
Facility Closures
The Knot reserves the right to restrict or close the facility to general use for special events, private parties, seminars, maintenance, or other activity it may deem desirable. No refund will be issued in the event of a closure.
Code of Conduct and Climbing Rules
The Knot reserves the right to issue verbal warnings, ask that you immediately leave the facility, and/or terminate your membership in response to any violation of the Code of Conduct or Climbing Rules.
